German Design Award 2018 for VIO 3

After winning the Red Dot Award last year, our VIO 3 surgery generator has won yet another major award. In the "Special Mention" category, the user interface of the VIO 3 convinced the jury. The two-part sphere on the large touchscreen visualizes the main functions in electrosurgery and enables the assignment of instruments by drag-and-drop as well as the activation of fingerswitches and footswitches. The design was developed in cooperation with Tricon Design AG.

The German Design Award distinguishes innovative products and projects, together with their manufacturers and designers who have proven to be pioneers in the German and international world of design. The German Design Award is awarded by the Council for Design of the German brand and design authorities.

"The award is the reward for our courage", explains Dr. Helmut Scherer, currently interim Department Head Quality Affairs and an experienced development manager. "After all, design does not simply fall from the sky. It is the result of a slowly developing process which often poses the question of how far can we go."

And we went a long way. With a result that speaks for itself.
